Danielle Cowley has been a massage therapist since 1999 when she was first licensed through the state of Florida. She then received her NY license through Monroe Community College with her Associates in Science in 2009. She continued her education with training in Thai massage with Patrick Ingrassia a couple years later.
I firmly believe that there is a way to work with a persons body to convince it to release in a gentle safe way instead of trying to use force or extreme pressure, which can only cause an already overused or injured muscle to tighten and fight the practitioner. The method I use involves a lot of stretching and movement to allow for different approaches into the muscle. I also believe in working with the body's own Golgi tendon response, a tendon specifically designed to release in instances of overstretch, to elicit my desired goal. Pressure can be great, but massage does NOT need to be painful in order to work. I believe in what I do, I've seen it work, heard my clients say they've received reduced pain or complete pain disappearance. They voted me City Newspaper's Best of Rochester two years in a row 2013-2014.
I honestly love what I do and it shows. There is no other job in the world that could offer me such a rewarding feeling. I hope I can help make your day, week, life just a little easier.
